A forty minute solo created after six months at P.A.R.T.S in Brussels. The solo is concerned with hiding and exposing, and plays with the inquisitiveness of the audience, asking them figuratively what they want to see and what they wish was not revealed.

This piece was the first in a trilogy of traveling solos made between Brussels, the US and the UK concerned with mental, metaphorical states of traveling (leaving, being there, coming home) and being culturally “other” (2000 – 2002). These solos were commissioned as part of Brussels 2000, Women on the way (USA) and Dance Live festival (Bristol). The second was “Interdomestic Themis” and the third was “Landings (agreeing a song lines).

Tessa Wills is a live artist

and choreographer with a background in music. She is from England, trained in central Europe and now lives in San Francisco. Her work elevates flaws and wounds as portals, ways of staging humanity, and often integrates eroticism to charge the pieces, which happen primarily on stage and video. Aside from the relentless pull of desire, her current practice is inspired by Hermits and professional mourning.
