Bird and Person Dyning.

Dance Mission, San Francisco. January 2011.

Part of the second annual “TOO MUCH! a queer performance marathon,” presented by Zero Performance and THEOFFCENTER.

20 minute solo which sits in the dynamic intersection between liminoid otherworldliness and a maniacally charged present. Bird and person dyning is a solo performance made in private over a year in which Tessa writes a world, flickering between liminal otherworldly places and a maniacally charged present.

Tessa Wills is a live artist

and choreographer with a background in music. She is from England, trained in central Europe and now lives in San Francisco. Her work elevates flaws and wounds as portals, ways of staging humanity, and often integrates eroticism to charge the pieces, which happen primarily on stage and video. Aside from the relentless pull of desire, her current practice is inspired by Hermits and professional mourning.
