Handle with Care

Handle with Care. Rubber Band Dance Theatre, Edinburgh. August 1999.
Artistic Director/Coordinator. Two pieces presented as part of Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Led a company of 14 graduate and undergraduate dancers and musicians to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe of performing arts to perform a program of my work. I made two pieces; the first was titled “running the karma over the dogma” and investigated depth of personal identification with extraneous model of behaviour for women. The second was “navigational information for solo flights in the dessert” based on a story of the same name which was read and reread recorded and live by the dancers.

Tessa Wills is a live artist

and choreographer with a background in music. She is from England, trained in central Europe and now lives in San Francisco. Her work elevates flaws and wounds as portals, ways of staging humanity, and often integrates eroticism to charge the pieces, which happen primarily on stage and video. Aside from the relentless pull of desire, her current practice is inspired by Hermits and professional mourning.
